We have been able to finalise a few more of our staffing positions for next year.
We are excited to announce:
- Eden Caputo will return for another year teaching English, HASS and HPE
- Emma Paparella will return as a bilingual SSO
- Kelly Pedler has been appointed as SSO – administration and student support
We are still yet to finalise our farm manager and canteen manager positions.
We look forward to welcoming the year 7 students for their 2 days of transition next week. Stephen Bosch and I, together with some of our current year 8’s, have visited our local primary schools and met with the year 7’s, allowing them time to ask questions about what to expect and what high school is really like.
The catastrophic conditions last week highlighted some misconceptions regarding buses and school closures. We have attached the bushfire information sheet to provide families with the latest information, hoping that this provides some more clarity.
"If the CFS gives advance notice of a forecast ‘catastrophic’ fire danger day, schools and preschools in the relevant fire ban district(s) that have a bushfire risk rating of R1 or R2 will be directed to close automatically. In addition, all school transport services in the affected fire ban district(s) will be cancelled.
Schools and preschools that have a risk rating of R3 or NR will remain open as usual, but are required to be vigilant because of the increased danger posed if a bushfire began burning under those conditions."
We are not an R1 or R2 site so we will remain open.
A reminder Monday 9th December is our Presentation Night and all members of the community are invited. There will be displays of student work as well as the opportunity to farewell the Year 12 class of 2019.
