Since the last newsletter there has been a number of changes around the school.
Staffing News
Congratulations to Jackie McAllister who has won the position of Middle School Coordinator at Peterborough High School. She started in her new position on Tuesday and we wish her all the very best.
We are excited to welcome Jack Kennewell to the staff and he has taken over most of Jackie’s classes, with only a few changes. This, unfortunately, did mean a change of timetables for Year 7-10 students so this week has been a little messy. The patience of students and staff in dealing with these changes has been appreciated.
We have also welcomed Rob Davy to the school this week as the new farm hand. With a busy term ahead in agriculture it will be wonderful to have somebody in the position.
Student leaders
We held our Dux Assembly last week, ably led by our current year 12 student leaders. Having Mackenzie Myers return to speak and provide some hints on how to be successful, particularly in the final year of school was insightful.
Swimming Carnival
With warm conditions on Wednesday, it was superb weather to be in the water and participating in our annual swimming carnival. Congratulations to all of the competitors, including those who maybe didn’t compete in the cup events but were prepared to get in and have a go to get as many points as possible for their particular house. The staff, parent, student relay and the swim-through were particular highlights. A massive congratulations to the Sullivan boys (Max, Isaac, Jaxon and Liam) relay team on breaking a long-standing record. Sullivan were clear victors on the day, congratulations to all of their team members for their team spirit and participation. It was great to see such strong encouragement for all swimmers and acknowledgment of the talents of those who excelled.
I would like to acknowledge the extraordinary work that goes on behind the scenes and on the day to make the event happen. Thank you to the Sports Committee for organising and to all of the staff, students and families who helped out on the day.
Quiz Night
Please get behind this night. The Governing Council are putting in a lot of time to make this event happen with some amazing prizes to be won. Please contact the school to book yourself or a table (6-8 people), at $15 per person. Platters are also available to order for the evening.

To begin the year, SACE Creative Art students developed a personal manifesto for art, determining what they believe the point of art is, how they live it, and what they hope to gain from doing art as a subject and being art-minded in their lives. The manifestos are inspiring and wonderful and hopefully will help keep them motivated throughout 2023.

Year 8 students have started the semester with a video editing assignment. Students create a Minecraft world and then record a video of their world. Students using Microsoft Video Editor can add title cards, music, voice-over and writing. The minimum length of the video is two minutes.
Year 9 students have been learning to write block code to control the Sphero Bolt Robots. Students are working towards writing a code to have the robots move in a predetermined pattern, change colour and make sounds.
Digital Media has just acquired seven drones that students will soon be coding to fly.
