Congratulations to our many athletes who participated in MNSEC Athletics at Jamestown last week. The weather was perfect and the competition was fierce. Many students have now been selected to represent MNSEC in Adelaide next Tuesday, which is a fantastic opportunity. We wish them all the best.
A huge congratulations to the Governing Council on organising the Quiz Night last Friday. It was a tremendous effort by the committee to see it all come together with such varied questions and wonderful prizes.
A reminder we have a Student Free Day next Thursday 6th April. There will also be another Student Free Day on Monday 8th May. This will involve staff attending a workshop in Port Pirie with overseas guest speakers.

Well done to all of the competitors who represented Gladstone High School at the MNSEC Athletics Carnival in Jamestown last Thursday. Your sportsmanship and determination demonstrated our school values and you did us proud!
To those who came along to support and cheer for our athletes on the day, we greatly appreciate the positive way you represented the school by using good manners in the canteen and staying in our school area at other times.
Thank you to all staff who attended on the day. Some had specific roles in scoring or helping with an event or timing and others were amazing in their help with organising our competitors and supervising the spectators. These are always huge days and we appreciate the effort our staff put in!
Kate Seidel - Sports Coordinator

Last week Mrs. Seidel's Child Studies class visited Gladstone Kindergarten. The class has written children's stories that focus on the importance of stories and literature to language development, connection and wellbeing in children.
Takeria's book focused on sharing her culture and language, Matilda's was about welcoming a new baby into a family and Alana's contained important messages about managing different feelings.
The kindergarten students moved between the three reading circles and had some great conversations about the books.
Thank you again to the staff and students at Gladstone Kindergarten for welcoming us into their space!

On Thursday the 9th of March, Gladstone High School celebrated International Women’s Day. This included students coming to school with purple clothes/accessories to help spread awareness for the day with activities throughout the day at recess and lunch.
The first activity included chalk on the pavement in the quadrangle, there was a giant chalk message saying, ‘International Women’s Day’ and people could write women that inspire them around it. Some common names included names of female teachers in our school, with another familiar name, ‘Mum’. It was great to see how people weren’t afraid to write their influencers and how lots of women in our lives are inspiring people.
Our other activity included a photo frame that said ‘International Women’s Day’ with pictures of influential women on it. People could pose behind with their friends and have photos taken for the day. It was great to see how people had lots of hype and were willing to have their pictures taken to help commemorate the day and the importance of women worldwide.
Overall, thank you to everyone who wore purple accessories/clothing to school, participated in the activities, and contributed something to the day. It was fantastic to see how the day was a great success, to celebrate all women worldwide and their achievements. Thank you to everyone.

GLADSTONE HIGH SCHOOL 2022 SHIRAZ
We are very excited to launch our 2022 Shiraz this weekend at the Laura Fair.
Congratulations to Jackson Fudge for his winning design on the 2022 wine label.

We have four current students and one past student from Gladstone High School heading to Cambodia at the end of Term 2 as part of a service mission with Projects Abroad. The next fundraiser is an Easter raffle. All money raised will go towards reducing the costs for students and also to help take essential items to Cambodia as gifts, like personal care items for the children in the schools. Tickets will be available from the front office and the students involved.
Thank you
