What's been happening in the paddock.......

This week the Agricultural department saw the arrival of a new drinking fountain, already this week numerous students have used the fountain. Commenting on how it is much more convenient to not have to walk back to the main school buildings and miss out on practical time. 

We have also seen the arrival of our second lot of chickens, this time we have both layers and broilers allowing the students to see the difference in growth between the two different types of chickens. This will therefore mean we will have another lot of layers to be sold towards the end of the year. Broilers (meat birds carcasses) will be available for purchase in approximately 7 weeks. Speaking of broiler chickens we have 3 whole chickens and 2 cut up chicken pieces still available for sale, if you are interested please contact the school to place an order. 

In other news we have been preparing the Goats and Cattle for the upcoming Kadina Show this Friday the 21st. We have seen great growth in both students confidence in leading and the animals abilities to be led and show well. We have also just recently finished preparing videos and pictures for the cattle being entered into the Stock Journal Virtual Competition.
