Outdoor Ed
During week 5 the Stage 1 & 2 Outdoor Education students packed up their rucksacks and travelled to the Mt Remarkable National Park for a 3-day bushwalking journey. The students have been using their class time to plan their route, food, equipment and risk assessments. We set off on Tuesday the 18th of August and returned on Thursday the 20th. Over the 3 days the students faced many challenges which included walking to the summit of Mt Remarkable with a heavy pack, wet and windy weather conditions and navigating their way to campsites.
During the camp we covered 40kms on some very challenging terrain. It was great to see the teamwork and resilience of students shown over the duration of the trip. A couple of the highlights for me were seeing the amazing meals the students were able to produce using the Trangia fuel stoves and the waterfall at Goat Rock.
A massive thank you to Mrs Gaunt for helping lead the trip, Barry and Digger for driving the buses and all the students for their positive attitudes.
