KNOCKOUT BASKETBALL
On the 24th of August a group of Year 9-12 students from Gladstone High School travelled to Balaklava to participate in the School Sports Open Boys Basketball Knockout Carnival. The students had been participating in regular lunchtime practices throughout the last two terms to improve their skills. Although they were unable to secure a win on the day, they showed excellent offensive skills and great sportsmanship. The closest score was against Clare High School, where Gladstone lost 32-33. The students were commended on their individual skills by multiple officials and were encouraged to improve their team defence.
Overall, the day was successful, and the students enjoyed being able to develop their skills and expand their social network. A massive thanks to Barry Martin for taking the time to drive us to and from the competition and Ali Gulin for umpiring the whole day.
