On Wednesday 13th October, 14 Year 11's made the trip across to Port Pirie with Miss Edge and Mrs Seidel to attend the Port Pirie Careers and Employment Expo. The expo provided students with the opportunity to undertake some further career exploration by speaking to people in industry. They were able to find out what kinds of qualities employers in various fields are looking for in new candidates, what jobs exist within the different organisations and information about current and recurring job vacancies. The expo also provided students with access to employers to build connections which will be useful when the time arises to pursue a career. The students found it to be a very valuable experience and many of them made the most of it. They also enjoyed the freebies and the sausage sizzle that was put on.
