PASTORAL CARE
My name is Sarah, and I am the new Pastoral Care Worker at Gladstone High School. I’m super excited to step into this role as I am passionate about young people and facilitating growth and development. I have worked with teenagers many times in the past and love to see and appreciate the uniqueness and talents each individual has to offer.
My role at Gladstone High School is to provide compassionate and practical support to staff, students, and the general school community when there are times of need. I work alongside the wellbeing team to provide appropriate care within the school and fill in the gaps where I’m needed. I’m available on a more personal level to help students through difficult times as well as a broader level to help improve school culture through organising and implementing activities and events. I’m in the school to provide support to individuals of diverse backgrounds and beliefs and work to enable an inclusive environment for all individuals.
I am employed by an organisation called Schools Ministry Group (SMG). SMG has partnered with many South Australian Government Schools and provided a PSW to help support the school community. A Pastoral Care Worker is overseen by the Department for Education .
I’m super excited to get to know everyone in the school community so make sure to come say hi when you can! You can find me in the yard or learning hub at recess and lunch. Otherwise, you contact me through my email or leave a message for me in my mailbox that is in the Library!
