REMEMBRANCE DAY
At Gladstone High School we commemorated Remembrance Day in a variety of ways. This year we are commemorating the ANZACS who served in Europe during World War 1, in particular South Australians and Victorians who fought in the battles at Dernancourt and Villers-Bretonneux.
Student leaders represented the school, laying a wreath at the Gladstone Remembrance Day Service held at the Town Hall. The remainder of staff and students participated in a service at school, run by the students, with each individual placing a poppy up the front to conclude the service.
Remembrance Day, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, is the day where we remember not just the soldiers of that Great War but the service of those who fight and keep peace for our country.
We will Remember them.
