Rowan Ramsey School Community Award
The Rowan Ramsay MP School Community Award is for someone who has gone above and beyond dedicating and volunteering their time and skills for our school. As such it is reserved for very special people and is not given out freely.
This year’s Rowan Ramsay Award winner, Bronwyn Mumford, has dedicated much time and energy to Gladstone High School over the past ten years.
Bronwyn was a very active member of the Governing council in 2014-2015 and 2018-2021. Bronwyn has willingly and readily volunteered her time and expertise particularly in the Ag department. She readily attends working bees and it is hard to find someone who puts in effort as much as Bronwyn.
Along with her husband Ben, the Mumford family have donated steers to the school to enable the students to participate in the led steer competitions at regional and Royal shows. You only need to walk in the front office and see the ribbons to know just how well Gladstone High School does at these events.
Bronwyn has been a member of the Agriculture committee in 2015 and from 2018-2021 and the Grounds committee from 2018-2021.
In 2021, despite all children having left Gladstone High School, Bronwyn self-nominated for Community Representative on Governing Council. A role that can be difficult to fill. For the past few years Bronwyn has lovingly crafted home-made delights to fill a basket for the staff of GHS, on behalf of Governing Council, to thank them for their dedication to our students.
I’m sure many of you are aware of Bronwyn’s community commitments also. Bronwyn has a wealth of knowledge from fencing to eftpos machines, she has been a great resource.
Congratulations Brownyn.
