This week our Year 8’s are at Port Augusta with Mr Palmer, Ms Kerr, Mr Bartlett and Mrs Davis for the annual Aquatics Camp. This also provides an excellent opportunity for the students who have come together, from many different schools, a further chance to get to know each other in another environment.
Congratulations to all of our MNSEC Swimming Team, who competed at Quorn last week. The team spirit was amazing and it was very pleasing to see almost every event filled. Thank you very much to the parents who were able to attend and for their help in filling specific roles on the day. A number of our students have now been selected for SSSSA Swimming at Marion next Tuesday. This is a big acknowledgement of their achievements and we wish them all the best representing MNSEC (Mid North Schools Education Cooperative)
Last week we had the Governing council AGM. It was very exciting to welcome some new members to the Governing Council. We still have one more vacancy to fill so if you are at all interested in being a member of this group please let the school know. If you would like some more details of what it would involve don’t hesitate to call me or talk to Kathryn Hansen, the Chairperson. In addition we need one parent representative on the Canteen committee. This is a Governing Council committee with student, staff, parent and Governing Council representation. There is usually one meeting per term to attend. If you would be willing to be a part of this group please let me know.
Next Monday night we have a Meet and Greet night starting at 6.30pm in the Learning Hub. This will be a chance to meet with the teachers and learn more about the communication methods we use with our families. RSVP‘s to help with catering would be very much appreciated.
Next Friday 6th March 2020 is Athletics Day and again all families are invited to attend and cheer on the competitors throughout the day. The Year 9’s will be running the BBQ as a fundraiser for the Ski Trip and alternative excursion, so please come and support the day.
Governing Council recently approved a Student Free Day for Tuesday 10th March to allow staff to undertake collaborative moderation and in some cases site visits to other schools
