I am Lauren Amey and I am so proud to be a part of the Gladstone High community as Assistant Principal. As Assistant Principal I will be leading the pedagogy and curriculum of Numeracy, Maths, Science, Technologies and Agriculture and also the whole school timetable. In semester one, you will find me teaching Year 9 Maths, 11 Child studies and 11 PE.
I am deeply committed to providing quality public education for all young people, focusing on developing critical and creative thinkers who are empowered to become lifelong learners and well-rounded citizens. I cherish the 'aha' moments in the classroom when students grasp new concepts, and I value teaching them the skills of questioning and problem-solving to support their growth and agency.
On weekends you'll see me taking my kids to various sports, coaching netball, walking at dawn, drinking good coffee or taking the van to the beach.
I am looking forward to continuing and supporting the many amazing things already happening here at Gladstone High in 2025.

Hi, my name is Brayden Kirk, and I am thrilled to join the permanent staff at Gladstone High in 2025. As a former student, it's wonderful to return in a different role and contribute to shaping the next generation of learners.
Before embarking on my teaching career, I worked in the community department at the Adelaide Football Club and pursued my passion for playing football at the highest level. After completing my studies and spending nine years in Adelaide, I am delighted to return home to Crystal Brook and help students learn, develop and thrive.
I am an avid sportsperson with a deep passion for all sports, especially football. I look forward to what 2025 has in store.

I extend a warm welcome to the students, parents and community at Gladstone High School. While it has been a busy start, there have been many positives to ease the load as I have transitioned, beginning with a significant amount of support amongst staff, confirming a collegial environment that is mindful of others and how they travel. Our first official event was the Dux Assembly, which was a privilege to attend. Asia's learning and reflection on her years of academia included some inspiration regarding her final school grades as not just a direct result of student application and capacity but also a collaboration of the support and guidance received from teachers, the school community, and parents. She furthered this to detail a lesson learnt: that the hurdles we overcome, while challenging at the time, build our skills and capacity to grow. My role as assistant principal at GHS is varied and builds upon some of the understandings that Asia shared. Working with the GHS staff team to develop literacy and assessment practices across the school is a priority, with literacy firmly embedded across all curriculum areas the responsibility for its development is shared and growth takes time and a shared commitment. Managing the buses and school sports are also key responsibilities of mine, and, with such a large number travelling to school by bus and many buses at or near capacity, I will have correspondence with many of you. Leading the organisation of school sports is also in my role which incorporates many bodies and skill sets. I am fortunate to have a team of people committed to ensuring the offerings at GHS cater for a range of interests. I also oversee English, Humanities, The Arts, and PE areas.
Warm regards, Danya McKay

G'day, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Paul Fogarty, and I've started working here at Gladstone High School this year. I have a range of teaching experiences and have taught a collection of ages and various subjects. I have a fierce interest in local sports, especially football, cricket and basketball. I have a background in English and HASS and a love of history and global politics. This year at GHS, my role is that of a Permanent Relief Teacher, which means I'll be able to provide regularity with students and be a familiar face that helps maintain structured learning when a class teacher is absent. Born and bred in the local area, I'm incredibly excited to be a part of this fabulous school community and can't wait for the year ahead.

"I am thrilled to join you as the Year 9-10 Coordinator at Gladstone High School. With great enthusiasm, I look forward to teaching English, Business Innovation, and IPP. Prior to joining Gladstone High School, I taught at Jamestown Community School. Residing in Crystal Brook, I have a passion for sports, particularly AFL, travelling to Adelaide to watch as many games as possible. I also have a love for reading, music, and film, with this coming in useful during general knowledge quizzes. I am eager to support our students in their growth and development and am excited to become an active member of the Gladstone High School community. "
