Principal Report - Tyler Hogan

As we move through the final weeks of the school year, there is a strong sense of focus and purpose across the school as students and staff work toward the completion of key learning programs and transition activities.

Parent–Teacher Interviews

It was very pleasing to see so many parents and students attend our recent Parent–Teacher Interviews. These conversations play a vital role in supporting student learning and strengthening the partnership between home and school. If you were unable to attend or would like further feedback on your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to contact the relevant teacher to arrange a suitable time for discussion.

Student Wellbeing and Support

We are pleased to welcome Mr John Treasure, our new Pastoral Care Worker, who has joined our wellbeing team. John will be on-site each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, providing additional support to students through mentoring, one-on-one conversations, and wellbeing programs. His calm and approachable manner has already been well received by both staff and students.

Student Behaviour and School Environment

Recently, we have experienced a few instances of inappropriate use of the boys’ toilets. This behaviour does not reflect the respect and responsibility expected within our school community. In response, we have implemented additional supervision and restricted access during class time. These measures are intended to ensure all facilities remain safe, hygienic, and respectful spaces for everyone. We ask families to reinforce the importance of appropriate behaviour and respect for shared areas at home.

Projects Abroad – Fiji Service Trip

Our students have now returned from their Projects Abroad Service Trip to Fiji, and there have been many conversations about what an incredible learning experience this was for everyone involved. The opportunity to engage in community projects, experience another culture, and contribute to meaningful service has clearly left a lasting impression. A huge thank you goes to Danya McKay, who was the lead organiser from our school, and to Emma Jeffries, who also attended the trip. This was a significant commitment from both staff and students, who gave up a large portion of their school holidays to take part in this life-changing experience. We are very proud of the maturity and leadership our students displayed throughout the journey.

Transition Program

Our transition activities are now in full swing, with Year 6 students joining us over the next two weeks for a series of part-day visits. These sessions help students build familiarity with staff, routines, and the layout of the school before their full two-day transition program in December. We are always impressed by the enthusiasm and confidence these students bring and look forward to officially welcoming them as our 2026 Year 7 cohort.

Senior Students

Our Year 11 students are currently finalising their coursework and assessments. In the coming weeks, they will begin an early start on their Year 12 subjects, giving them a valuable head start for 2026. This transition period allows students to set clear goals, become familiar with expectations, and build momentum leading into their final year of schooling.

Our Year 12 students have now submitted their final assessments and are about to commence their exams. We wish them all the very best as they complete this important stage of their schooling. Their hard work and perseverance throughout the year have been commendable, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the end of the term.
